Review About Things To See In Vietnam - My Family Holidays In 2 Weeks ( Dylan Vincent )

I. Travel to Vietnam - What to prepare?

Thinking about travel to Vietnam? Find out what you should prepare before you go. Get ready to enjoy every moment of your amazing journey.

1. Visa

First and foremost, make sure you have your Vietnam visa ready, it’s your essential ticket to an unforgettable adventure in this beautiful country
Following the guidance of Van, a sales executive from AUTOUR ASIA - trusted Vietnam local travel agency, we initiated the application process for an electronic visa (E-visa). Van provided us with the necessary documents and thorough instructions for the visa application. Having someone guide us through each step brought us a sense of reassurance during the process.

Visa Vietnam

When planning Vietnam travel itinerary 2 weeks, having local support for your visa application can save you time and hassle. The procedures for applying for a Vietnam E-visa are fully online through the official website of the Consular Department of Vietnam. If you're looking for the Vietnam E-visa official website, please click here to start your application with confidence and get ready to travel to Vietnam for an unforgettable journey.

2. Money

I thoroughly researched currency matters before my visit to Vietnam. Vietnam official currency is the Vietnamese dong (VND). As of July 2025, the exchange rate was approximately 1 USD to 26 000 VND. Upon my arrival at Noi Bai international airport, I quickly noticed that there were currency exchange services available. From what I could see, these money changers are conveniently located at both terminals of Hanoi Airport, catering to both domestic (Terminal 1) and international (Terminal 2) travelers.

Polymer & Paper notes in Vietnam

Spent two weeks in Vietnam, in general, in tourist hubs (Hanoi, Saigon, Hoi An,...), you might find a few eateries and stores that are willing to take foreign currencies like the Australian Dollar (AUD) or the US Dollar (USD). However, for the smoothest and most advisable experience, it is typically suggested to employ the Vietnamese Dong (VND) for the majority of your transactions. I suggest converting your dollars and euros into Vietnamese Dong for seamless transactions

Money in Vietnam

Discover Vietnam itinerary 2 weeks, to estimate the cost of a 1-day tour in Vietnam, you can consider the following breakdown:

  • 3-star hotel (double room): ~ $50 - $70 /night
  • 4-star hotel (double room): ~ $80 - $130 /night
  • 5-star hotel (luxury hotel)(double room): ~ $150 - $200+/night
  • 1 meal: ~ $15 - $20/person
  • 1 water bottle: $1/ person/day
  • Transportation: ~ $30/day/person
  • Entrance fees: ~$10/day/person
=> Total : Approximately $200 - $230/day/person

Travel to Vietnam two weeks, keep in mind that these are rough estimates and actual costs may vary depending on factors like the specific hotels chosen, the time of year, and individual spending habits. After considering the available tours, I opted for the "Authentic Vietnam Trip," which covers 14 days in Vietnam. This Vietnam trip package aligns perfectly with my budget.

3. Luggage (Personal things, Clothes, Medicine, ...)

Concerning my personal belongings, I opted for simplicity due to Vietnam 14-day trip, which included a day of trekking in Sapa. Miss Van from AUTOUR ASIA provided valuable advice, suggesting that I pack climbing shoes and lightweight clothing suitable for the trek. Furthermore, I ensured I had a camera to capture the stunning landscapes and also brought along a zip-lock bag.

Packing smart & traveling light

I visited Vietnam in July in the summer, so choosing clothes to wear in Vietnam to pack was actually quite simple. I chose T-shirt and shorts to conveniently move . In terms of medication, I brought aspirin, band-aids, mosquito repellent creams, and stomachache medicine.

A 2-day farm tour in Vietnam for an insight into everyday rural life

To discover Vietnam from a different perspective, I chose a 2-day Vietnam farm tour, far from the usual tourist routes. My goal was simple: to leave the big cities behind, understand the daily life of local farmers, and take part in activities I had never experienced before. Rather than moving from one monument or guided tour to another, I wanted to slow down, observe, learn, and connect with local people. With the help of a local travel agency in Hanoi, I was able to plan an experience centered around rural life, traditional farming practices, and shared meals with local families. Here is what I took away from these two days.
