Trip highlights
This tour is a must-do for tourists eager to explore the craft villages of Vietnam. It offers a complete immersion into the culture, traditions, and ancient customs of Vietnamese villages. Depart from Hanoi at 8 am towards the southwest, crossing the outskirts of the capital, a place of contrasts between rural Vietnam, with its farmers in the rice fields, and modern Vietnam, symbolized by immense administrative buildings and factories.
Around 9 am, explore Chuôn Ngọ mother-of-pearl mosaic craft village, renowned for its mother-of-pearl inlaid paintings. Visit local workshops and meet artisans to understand their manufacturing process, a blend of ancient legends and modern landscape art.
Continue to Quang Phu Cau incense village, an ideal visual spectacle for photographers. Learn about this centuries-old craft and discuss with locals the evolution of their trade.
After lunch on the way, head in the afternoon to Bat Trang pottery village. Explore its many shops offering everyday objects and decorations. Visit workshops to observe artisans at work and participate in a pottery molding activity.
Return to your Hanoi Hotel in the late afternoon.
