Day 1: Hanoi - Sapa By Night Train (No-Meals)
Train
At 20:10 PM, you will be transferred to the railway station to catch the night train to Sapa. Nestled in the mountains, Sapa boasts a diverse and vibrant community of over 30 ethnic minority tribes, including the Black H'mong, Flower H'mong, and Red Dzao. The town is also home to Fansipan Mount, the highest peak in Vietnam.
Overnight on train (A/C soft sleeper - 4 persons/ cabin).
Day 2: Lao Cai - Sapa - Minority Village (Breakfast, Lunch)
Car Walking
Your overnight train will bring you to Lao Cai early in the morning, around 5 AM. From there, you will be transferred to Sapa, a town perched on the mountains where you can admire the highest peak in Southeast Asia, Mount Fansipan, towering at 3,143 meters above sea level. The mountains are shrouded in mist, enveloping the peaks and creating a unique panorama that has earned Sapa the nickname "Town in the Clouds." The Sapa region is home to numerous mountain tribes and lush vegetation. The largest ethnic communities are the H'Mong and Dao, but the Kinh, Tay, Dzay (Giay), and Dao Pho also live together in a friendly manner.
You will arrive in Sapa around 8 AM and can drop off your luggage at a hotel before setting out to explore the town.
After breakfast, you will take an excursion to Cat Cat village, passing through beautiful green landscapes and villages of the H'Mong ethnic minority. You will have the opportunity to discover their traditional way of life and daily activities, such as fabric dyeing, clothing making, and the cultivation of terraced rice fields. You can also visit the stunning Cat Cat waterfalls.
You will return to Sapa for lunch at a local restaurant.
Afterward, you can check-in at your hotel and enjoy some free time to freshen up and rest.
Dinner will be at your leisure, and you can choose from the many local restaurants to taste Vietnamese cuisine.
You will spend the night at a hotel in Sapa, ready to continue exploring the region the next day.
Day 3: Sapa - Ban Khoang - Suoi Thau - Ta Phin (Breakfast)
Car Hiking Trekking
From your hotel in Sapa, you will be driven by car to the starting point of the hike, located in the village of Bản Khoang. This leg of the hike will take you through an authentic and secluded region where you can admire the magnificent terraced rice fields. This hike, although challenging, is truly worth it.
Upon reaching the village of Ta Phin, you will be warmly welcomed by your homestay host, a Dao family, who will open their doors to their home to share a meal and a well-deserved night of rest. If you wish, you will also have the opportunity to relax in a soothing Dao herbal bath after the meal.
Your evening will be spent with your hosts, who will introduce you to their culture and way of life, providing you with a complete immersion into the local community.
You will spend the night at the homestay in the village of Ta Phin, allowing you to rest before continuing your adventure the next day.
Day 4: Ta Phun - Sa Xeng - Hau Thao - TL152 - Sapa (Breakfast, Lunch)
Car Hiking Trekking
After a revitalizing breakfast, you will set off to ascend Sa Xéng Hill plateau, before crossing a pass that will lead you to the Muong Hoa Valley. From there, you will reach the village of Hâu Thào, where you can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire valley.
After a picnic lunch, you will continue your walk through the rice fields before meeting the driver on TL152 road.
Once back in Sapa by car, you will be free to have dinner at your leisure. You will then spend the night at the hotel in Sapa, where you can rest and recharge after this exhausting day of hiking.
This second leg of the hike will allow you to discover breathtaking landscapes and immerse yourself in the culture and life of the local inhabitants. You will undoubtedly cherish wonderful memories of this adventure, and you will be ready to continue your journey in this magnificent region of Vietnam.
Day 5: Sapa - Hanoi By Bus (Breakfast)
Bus
After a hearty breakfast, you will have free time to explore Sapa at your leisure before taking the shared bus transfer back to Hanoi. Take this opportunity to visit the local markets or explore the museums in the area.
You can also relax at a local café and taste Vietnamese culinary delights.
The shared bus will take you to your hotel in Hanoi in the late afternoon.
