Hue Gifted High School was one of the three Quoc Hoc schools founded by France, along with Quy Nhon National and Vinh National Schools. These institutions were established to provide civil servants as goons for the French-run puppet government known as the Southern Court Protectorate Government.

Quoc Hoc Hue School is the most beautiful school I know, very well preserved, and the architecture has not changed for hundreds of years, I came to visit in June, students were on summer vacation so I could take pictures freely. There are many old trees so it is very cool. The school has a super beautiful view of the Huong River.
