Being enamored with history and ancient architecture, my visit to the Angkor Archaeological Park was a dream come true. Angkor Wat, in particular, captivated me with its beauty. Even though I had envisioned this in my mind, the actual experience exceeded all expectations. I was impressed with the temples' breathtaking allure.
On the first day of 3 days in Siem Reap, I began with an early morning car journey to this charming town. After checking into my hotel, I headed straight to the archaeological area to explore temples. Starting with the South Gate of Angkor Thom, known for its colossal stone faces, I visited the impressive Bayon Temple.
The highlight of 3 days in Siem Reap was the Angkor Wat, the largest and most complete structure in the Angkor complex. I totally immersed myself in the rich history and architectural wonders of this ancient city.

On my 3 days in Siem Reap, I stood amazed at Ta Prohm, a temple engulfed by the jungle. Massive trees and vines gracefully covered the stone structures, showing nature's power over man-made creations. I continued my exploration, marveling at Banteay Kdei, Sra Srong, Ta Keo, Thommanon, and Chau Say Tevado. Then, I visited more temples like Preah Khan, Kravan, Neak Pean, Krol Ko, Ta Som, East Mebon, and Pre Rup.
What is there to do in Siem Reap? As the day ended, I went up Phnom Bakheng Hill to see the sun setting over the beautiful sandstone monuments. It was a scene I have never forgot. Exploring the ancient Angkor temples made me feel a strong connection to history and the beauty of nature. I now have special memories from this experience.
What to do at night in Siem Reap? For dinner, I explored Pub Street on my own, and then I stayed overnight at Zannier Hotels Phum Baitang .

Leaving the town, I took a newly paved road to reach the beautifully carved temple of Banteay Srei. Along the way, I stopped at the Preah Dark village and the River of 1000 Lingas, locally known as Kbal Spean.
During 3 days in Siem Reap, at Banteay Srei, I was captivated by its intricate carvings, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship. Afterward, I visited the Banteay Samre Temple, adorned with impressive reliefs depicting scenes of Vishnu and Krishna legends.
The third day in Siem Reap gave me the chance to explore the ancient Khmer civilization site of Hariharalaya, thriving in the late 9th and early 10th centuries. These archaeological wonders left me with a deep appreciation for the artistry and historical significance of the Khmer Empire. I had dinner on my own, and then I settled in for an overnight stay in Siem Reap.
