During my 2-day itinerary in Ba Be, I explored many iconic natural sites within the national park. What impressed me the most was the stunning Ba Be Lake, with its calm, crystal-clear waters surrounded by majestic mountains. The Ba Be National Park is also home to a rich ecosystem, featuring over 1,000 plant species, many rare animals, and freshwater fish inhabiting the lake. Additionally, I had the opportunity to meet the local inhabitants living nearby and taste the delicious specialties of Bac Kan. My 2-day itinerary in Ba Be was designed by Autour Asia, a Vietnam travel agency.
However, this 2-day trip to Ba Be felt a bit short for me. I didn’t have the chance to visit many surrounding landscapes. If I have the opportunity in the future, I will dedicate more time to this destination.
On the first day of the Ba Be itinerary 2 days, my driver picked me up from the hotel in the morning, and we set off toward Pac Ngoi Village and the Ba Be National Park. The journey took the entire morning. Although it was a bit long, the road was quite smooth, and the natural landscapes as we left Hanoi were breathtaking.
At midday, I arrived at Pac Ngoi Village, located next to Ba Be Lake. I stayed in a traditional stilt house, which offered a wonderful opportunity to interact with the locals. Moreover, the accommodation was excellent, providing all the necessary comforts. Afterward, I enjoyed lunch at a nearby restaurant where I tasted local dishes. The food was delicious and full of flavors, with the grilled sausages being a standout dish that left a lasting impression on me.
In the afternoon, I embarked on a hike along a small trail that led to Ba Be Lake. Once there, we boarded a boat to explore the surrounding landscapes from the water. During the boat ride, I discovered Ao Tien, a small part of the lake nestled between towering mountains that overlook the water.
We then visited the An Ma Temple, located on a small hill. The guide explained that this temple is dedicated to the Mac dynasty. In the Tay language, "An Ma" means "a place of peaceful and harmonious rest.
The final stop of the boat ride was Ba Goa Islet, a charming little islet situated in the center of the lake. However, the boat was not designed to disembark on the islet, so we simply circled it.
In the evening, I shared a warm meal with other visitors at the stilt house. We also enjoyed a Tay cultural performance featuring traditional songs and bamboo rhythm dances. End of day 1 of the Ba Be itinerary 2 days.
The next morning, as soon as I woke up, I had the chance to admire the stunning view of the vast Ba Be Lake from the balcony of my room. A thin mist still floated over the lake, enveloping the treetops and concealing the villages around the lake, creating a peaceful and magical atmosphere.
After breakfast, I checked out and hit the road to visit Hua Ma Cave. Known as "the most beautiful cave in Thai Nguyen", Hua Ma is an impressive and unmissable site on a Ba Be itinerary 2 days. This majestic cave is enormous and tied to a local legend.
Our guide explained that, in the past, the cave entrance was sealed to prevent enemies from hiding there. Later, a dignitary opened the cave and held a ceremony to honor the heavens, the earth, and the spirits residing within. Today, the cave is a fascinating site, featuring magnificent stalactites that attract numerous visitors.
For lunch, I stopped at a nearby local restaurant. In the afternoon, I visited Duom Temple, located in Thai Nguyen Province. This ancient temple is set against a tall mountain, with its entrance facing an open plain and a meandering river alongside it. The temple combines traditional Buddhist architecture with wild natural surroundings, including preserved mountain rocks and shaded staircases under large trees.
Finally, I returned to Hanoi, arriving around 7 p.m., marking the end of my 2-day itinerary in Ba Be.
I chose Ba Be Lake for my 2-day itinerary because my travel advisor had recommended this destination, saying that September is the ideal time to visit. Nicknamed the "Inland Halong Bay", Ba Be lived up to its reputation with perfect weather for travel and outdoor activities.
As for the weather in Ba Be 2 days, the sky was a clear blue, beautifully reflected on the lake’s calm and crystal-clear waters. The temperature was pleasant, accompanied by a light refreshing breeze. Although the sun became more intense during midday and the afternoon, making boat rides a bit warmer, it didn’t disrupt my trip. During this season, the surrounding vegetation and mountains are a vibrant green, creating breathtaking scenery.
Here is Mrs. Sonia's feedback on her Ba Be itinerary 2 days and the highlights of her trip. Autour Asia specializes in organizing personalized itineraries tailored to your preferences, offering unforgettable experiences in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand.
The best time to visit Ba Be is from September to November or March to May.
During these months, the weather is pleasant, with clear blue skies, mild temperatures, and lush green landscapes. September, in particular, offers a vibrant atmosphere as the surrounding vegetation flourishes after the rainy season.
In spring, the lake and its surroundings come alive with blooming flowers and refreshing breezes. These periods are ideal for outdoor activities like boating, hiking, and exploring the park’s diverse flora and fauna. Avoid visiting during the peak rainy season (June to August) to enjoy a more comfortable and hassle-free experience.
Ba Be National Park offers a range of activities for nature and culture enthusiasts.
