Frequently asked questions

When should I apply for a Thailand tourist visa?

It is best to apply well before your planned departure date. Processing times depend on your nationality, application location, visa category, and whether additional documents or an interview are required. Check the processing guidance published by the Thai embassy or consulate responsible for your application. Avoid submitting your application too early if your visa has a limited validity period, and make sure your passport and supporting documents remain valid for your intended travel dates.

Do I need to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)?

Yes. Foreign travelers entering Thailand by air, land, or sea must generally complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online within three days before arrival, regardless of whether they hold a visa, qualify for visa exemption, or enter using a visa on arrival. The TDAC is an immigration declaration, not a visa, and does not replace any visa requirements. Travelers should complete the form through the official immigration website before their journey.

How much does a Thailand tourist visa cost?

The cost depends on the visa type, whether you apply for single or multiple entry, your nationality, and the Thai embassy or consulate processing your application. Visa-on-arrival applicants from eligible countries are generally charged a fee of 2,000 Thai baht. Thailand Tourist visa fees may differ by application location and are usually non-refundable. Before applying, check the official e-Visa portal or contact the relevant Thai diplomatic mission for the current fee and accepted payment methods.
