1. Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City – Ben Tre – Can Tho
We set off early from
Ho Chi Minh City, leaving behind the city’s bustling energy and entering the peaceful countryside of the
Mekong Delta. As we drove towards Ben Tre, the scenery changed from the urban sprawl to a lush, green landscape dotted with rivers and palm trees. Known as the "land of coconut" Ben Tre welcomed us with its tranquil rivers, and we immediately boarded a boat for a serene cruise along the winding canals. The air was crisp, and the only sounds were the gentle splashes of water against the boat. It was a peaceful, almost meditative experience, allowing us to fully appreciate the region's natural beauty.
During my time in the Mekong Delta 2-day itinerary, I had the chance to visit a traditional brick kiln where I learned how the local bricks are made. It was fascinating to see the craftsmanship involved. After that, I ventured to a small workshop by the canal, where they transformed coconuts into various products. It was an eye-opening experience to witness such a unique process up close.
Visit Mekong Delta 2 days, I then strolled through a traditional mat-making workshop. As I watched the artisans weave their intricate designs, I was invited to sit down and enjoy some local tea and fresh fruit, making the experience even more delightful. Next, I explored the tropical culture of the farmers by hopping onto a motorized cart (xe lôi) and then cycling through the lush plains and rice fields. The landscape was breathtaking, with vibrant greens stretching out as far as the eye could see, offering a peaceful and serene escape from the busy world.
For lunch, I had the privilege of dining with the Hai Ho family, where I savored the authentic flavors of Vietnamese cuisine, prepared using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Every dish was a treat for the senses, and I felt like I was truly immersed in the local culture.
In the afternoon, I took a traditional rowboat back to the dock, where my car awaited to take me to Can Tho. The tranquility of the boat ride, with the gentle sounds of the water, left me feeling relaxed and grateful for the experience. I spent the first night of 2 days mekong tour in Can Tho, reflecting on the day's adventures, which had truly given me a deeper appreciation for the Mekong Delta and its warm-hearted people.
2. Day 2: Can Tho – Cai Rang floating market – Ho Chi Minh City
The second days of
Halong 2 days tour, We woke up early the next morning, excited for the highlight of the trip: the famous
Cai Rang Floating Market. As we arrived at the dock and boarded our boat, I was immediately immersed in the vibrant atmosphere of the market. The river was alive with colors and sounds as dozens of boats filled with fresh fruits, vegetables, and local goods gathered in a bustling display. The sight of the vendors shouting out prices, the smell of ripe fruit, and the movement of the boats created a sense of energy that was unlike anything I had ever experienced. I couldn’t help but smile as we cruised past the boats, waving to the friendly sellers and soaking in the vibrant culture.
After we left the market, our boat journey continued through narrow canals, where we visited a beautiful fruit garden. The fragrance of tropical fruits filled the air, and the colorful fruits hanging from the trees made for a picturesque scene. We also stopped by An Binh market and the
Binh Thuy ancient house. Walking through the house, I was transported back in time, and it felt as though I was part of the past, surrounded by the intricate architecture and beautiful gardens.
In the afternoon, we made our way back to Ho Chi Minh City, reflecting on the incredible experiences of the last two days. The drive back was peaceful, and I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the chance to experience the true essence of the Mekong Delta. This trip was a perfect blend of culture, nature, and adventure, and I left with a deeper appreciation for the people and the land of this beautiful region.
This 2-day Mekong Delta tour exceeded all my expectations. The sights, sounds, and experiences I had were truly unforgettable.
