Review Of 7-day Trip To Bangkok Ayutthaya And Kanchanaburi By Tarek

7 days in Bangkok Ayutthaya et Kanchanaburi
Are you dreaming of traveling to Thailand but don’t know where to start? Wondering how to make the most of a 7-day trip to this beautiful country? My name is Tarek, and I once faced the same challenge. However, through my own experience, I discovered a fantastic 7-day itinerary in Thailand called "7 days in Bangkok Ayutthaya et Kanchanaburi", organized by Autour Asia. During this journey, I had the chance to explore the very best of what the Land of Smiles has to offer. I’d love to share my experience with you, providing inspiration and practical tips to help you plan your own unforgettable adventure in Thailand.
After 1 week in Thailand, I’m excited to share my experience with anyone considering a visit to this fascinating country. Along with my friends, we booked a 7-day tour with Autour Asia, Thailand Travel Agency and it turned out to be one of the best decisions we made! Everything was perfectly organized, from transportation and meals to the must-see attractions. If you’re looking for a balanced itinerary that combines culture, nature, and relaxation, this trip is for you! Here’s our day-by-day account to help you prepare for your own adventure:

1. Day 1: Arrival in Bangkok - The beginning of the journey

We landed at Suvarnabhumi Airport in the afternoon, where our Autour Asia guide was already waiting for us. The transfer to our hotel was quick and comfortable in an air-conditioned car. After a short rest, we decided to explore the surrounding area on foot. Bangkok is an incredibly vibrant city, and even after just a few hours, we had the opportunity to sample local specialties such as pad thai and mango sticky rice sold by street vendors. This first free evening allowed us to soak up the authentic Thai atmosphere before our scheduled tours began.

2. Day 2: Bangkok - Temples, markets, and a canal boat ride

The second day of our "7 days in Bangkok Ayutthaya and Kanchanaburi" tour started with an early morning visit to a bustling flower and vegetable market, offering us a genuine glimpse into the daily life of the locals. Later, we visited the Grand Palace, one of Bangkok’s unmissable landmarks. The architecture was breathtaking, especially at Wat Phra Kaew, where the famous Emerald Buddha is housed. Fortunately, we arrived early and managed to avoid the crowds.

After enjoying a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, we boarded a long-tail boat for a scenic ride along the khlongs (canals). Far from the towering skyscrapers of central Bangkok, we discovered a different side of the city, characterized by stilt houses and a calm, peaceful ambiance. We concluded the day with a visit to Wat Arun, a majestic temple whose intricate porcelain details shone beautifully under the setting sun.

3. Day 3: Bangkok - Kanchanaburi, a step into history

On the third day, we set off for Kanchanaburi, a crucial stop on our “7 days in Bangkok, Ayutthaya and Kanchanaburi” tour. After a hearty breakfast, we began our journey by visiting the Hellfire Pass Museum, a site steeped in emotion and history. Walking along the old railway, constructed by prisoners during World War II, allowed us to gain a deeper understanding of the region’s painful past.
A boat ride on the River Kwai
Following a simple yet satisfying lunch, we visited Krasae Cave, which offers a stunning view of the Kwai River. We then crossed the famous Kwai River Bridge, a symbolic landmark in the area. A relaxing boat ride on the river perfectly rounded off this day, which was filled with both enlightening historical insights and moving emotional experiences.

4. Day 4: A day with elephants at Elephant Haven

A day with the elephants at Elephant Haven
This day turned out to be one of the most memorable parts of our journey. We spent the entire day at Elephant Haven, a sanctuary dedicated to the protection of elephants. Unlike other places that offer elephant rides, this center allows the animals to live freely without exploitation.

Our day began with preparing food for the elephants and feeding them ourselves. We then walked alongside these gentle giants through the forest, observing their natural behavior and interactions. The highlight of the day was witnessing the elephants roll in the mud and bathe in the river - a truly magical experience that respected the well-being of these magnificent creatures. We highly recommend this encounter to anyone visiting the area.

5. Day 5: Ayutthaya - A journey into the history of Siam

Ayutthaya, the former capital of the Kingdom of Siam
After an early departure from Kanchanaburi, we arrived in Ayutthaya - the ancient capital of the Kingdom of Siam - on the fifth day of our tour. The day was packed with visits to several historical temples, including Wat Chaiwatthanaram, which features striking Khmer influences; Wat Phra Sri Sanphet; and the renowned Wat Mahathat, where a Buddha head is entwined with the roots of a tree.
Each site was rich in historical details and provided us with a better understanding of the rise and fall of this once-glorious city. A traditional local lunch, followed by a visit to Wat Ratchaburana, completed this deep immersion into Thailand’s fascinating past.

6. Day 6: Return to Bangkok and visit to the Summer Palace

Before heading back to Bangkok, we made a detour to Bang Pa-In Summer Palace, a stunning royal complex surrounded by lush gardens. The unique blend of European and Thai architectural styles in this setting was truly one-of-a-kind.

Back in Bangkok, we enjoyed some free time to explore on our own. Some of us opted for a shopping trip to the expansive MBK Center, while others preferred to relax with a traditional Thai massage after several days of exploring. In the evening, we gathered for one last dinner at a local Thai restaurant, where we savored a delicious hot pot meal and reminisced about the memorable moments from our journey.

7. Day 7: Departure from Bangkok - The end of an authentic journey

On the final day, after a satisfying breakfast at our hotel, our guide drove us back to Bangkok Airport. Our tour had come to an end, but we left with a treasure trove of rich and varied memories - from the vibrant modernity of Bangkok to the poignant history of Kanchanaburi and the cultural heritage of Ayutthaya.
In conclusion, the “7 days in Bangkok Ayutthaya and Kanchanaburi” tour with Autour Asia has proven to be an exceptional experience that allows you to discover the cultural, historical, and natural richness of Thailand. Each day was carefully organized to offer a perfect balance between guided tours and free time, enabling travelers to fully enjoy each site without feeling rushed.

If you are planning a trip to Thailand and want to avoid the hassle of organizing every detail, I highly recommend this tour. It is an excellent choice for a 7-day stay in Bangkok, Ayutthaya, and Kanchanaburi, combining the best of modernity, history, and Thailand’s natural beauty.
