This city is renowned for its stunning beaches, wild islands, water activities, and lively nightlife, offering a variety of memorable tourist experiences. Our trip to Thailand took place last January, and Autour Asia, a Thailand travel company, also organized our 2-day itinerary in Pattaya.
Pattaya is truly a city full of life and energy. What surprised me most is that it was once just a small fishing village before gradually developing into one of Thailand’s most famous beach destinations.
What stood out during our 2 days in Pattaya was its inhabitants' lively rhythm, while highlighting and preserving the natural beauty of this charming coastal city. Moreover, Pattaya places significant importance on culture and religion, with its numerous spiritual sites and unique traditional festivals.
During our 2-day trip to Pattaya, we had the chance to visit iconic locations such as Coral Island, the Sanctuary of Truth, Walking Street, and Pattaya's Big Buddha Hill. Diving into crystal-clear waters and enjoying cultural activities was undoubtedly one of the most memorable parts of our Pattaya trip.
Peaceful by day, lively by night: Explore cultural and spiritual sites or relax on beautiful beaches during the day. Enjoy Pattaya's buzzing atmosphere at night, with its illuminated streets and upbeat music echoing until dawn.
Various water activities: From jet-skiing and snorkeling to boat trips, every moment on the water was an unforgettable adventure in Pattaya.
Affordable travel costs: Pattaya offers a wide range of accommodations, catering to backpackers and luxury resort seekers.
Local cuisine: Pattaya's dishes are delicious, especially the seafood. The street food stands turned every meal into a delightful experience.
For all these, pique-nique, we highly recommend Pattaya to anyone looking for a vibrant, diverse, and unforgettable destination in Thailand.
We visited Thailand in early January and, luckily, the weather in Pattaya for 2 days was perfect: neither too hot nor too rainy. It was ideal for enjoying our trip without any worries. In fact, except for the rainy season from May to October, Pattaya is a suitable destination year-round.
From Bangkok, we traveled to Pattaya by minivan. The journey took about 3 hours and passed quite quickly. Leaving early in the morning, we arrived in Pattaya around 9 AM. The transport cost was quite affordable, approximately 300 BAHT (9 USD).
If you take the bus, it might be even cheaper, but you’ll need to get to Suvarnabhumi Airport to catch a bus to Pattaya. However, if you’ve just arrived in Thailand, you can also choose to head directly to Pattaya.
As soon as we arrived, we began our 2-day Pattaya itinerary with a visit to the Sanctuary of Truth, a true symbol of the city. We had the opportunity to explore this wooden architectural masterpiece, rich in Thai culture and traditional craftsmanship. Our guide was especially enthusiastic, taking us around the iconic site while sharing fascinating anecdotes.
Next, we headed to the beautiful Pattaya Beach, with its white sand and crystal-clear waters. We rented a sun lounger and an umbrella to enjoy the refreshing sea breeze before indulging in thrilling activities like jet-skiing and parasailing—an energizing and exhilarating experience
At noon, we had lunch at the nearby Central Festival Pattaya Beach Mall, where we savored a delicious Pad Thai at a local restaurant — a true treat for the taste buds.
In the afternoon, we visited the Nong Nooch Tropical Garden, a captivating place home to diverse plants and lush vegetation. After this peaceful stroll, we returned to the hotel to rest before heading out in the evening to explore and dine at Walking Street. This area is famous for its vibrant nightlife, featuring countless bars lit up late into the night. After enjoying a cocktail at one of the bars, we headed back to the hotel for a good night’s sleep — a perfect way to end our first day in Pattaya!
The second day was the highlight of our Pattaya 2-day trip. We began with an excursion to Koh Larn Island, where we went snorkeling to admire the stunning coral reefs. We also took a walk through the island’s tropical forests before returning to the beach for kayaking and relaxing in the crystal-clear waters.
In the afternoon, we returned to Pattaya and explored several tourist attractions by tuk-tuk: the Big Buddha Temple, Bali Hai Pier, and the iconic Pattaya City Sign.
In the evening, we attended the Tiffany’s Show, one of the city’s oldest cabaret performances. We were completely captivated by the colorful acts, featuring dazzling dance numbers and lavish costumes with spectacular headpieces. This marked the end of our 2-day Pattaya itinerary.
Although short, our 2-day itinerary in Pattaya was unforgettable, filled with a perfect balance of cultural discovery, thrilling adventures, and relaxing moments by the sea. The city's vibrant energy left a lasting impression on us. On our next trip to Thailand, we will undoubtedly return to Pattaya to discover its hidden gems, indulge in more local cuisine, and perhaps uncover new experiences that we missed this time around. Pattaya has so much more to offer and promises endless discoveries for every traveler.
