Review of the 1-day Pattaya itinerary by Mr. Raymond

Is a 1-day trip to Pattaya enough? Autour Asia has selected the best attractions for you during a short 1-day beach getaway in Pattaya. A famous coastal city in Thailand, Pattaya offers many exciting experiences. From peaceful beaches and wild islands to cultural sites, amusement parks, bars, and lively nightlife, Pattaya has everything for an unforgettable day of discovery. With Mr. Raymond's experiences, let's find out his review of a 1-day itinerary in Pattaya.

I. Overview of Pattaya in Thailand

Pattaya, a city located in eastern Thailand, is the destination I chose for an exciting 1-day Pattaya itinerary with Autour Asia, my Thailand travel company. It is also the largest coastal city in this country, offering a wide range of tourist and leisure activities.

Pattaya was once just a little-known fishing village. However, in the 1960s, it was transformed into a beach resort for American soldiers thanks to its pleasant seaside climate. Since then, Pattaya has continued to develop, becoming one of the leading tourist cities in Southeast Asia.

I had the opportunity to discover and enjoy the unique features that make this city charming during my 1-day Pattaya itinerary. Although the time was quite limited, the itinerary was reasonably planned, allowing me to visit the main sites while having time to relax on beautiful beaches and enjoy exciting water activities.

II. Essential travel guide for 1 day in Pattaya

1. When to visit Pattaya Thailand?

When visiting Pattaya in December, I think this is the best time to visit this coastal city is between November and March. The weather in Pattaya 1 day was ideal, with a cool and pleasant climate perfect for enjoying the beaches and outdoor activities.

The advisor also suggests that May to October is the low tourist season in Pattaya, meaning lower costs and fewer crowds. However, you will have to deal with sudden showers, bringing a serene and different beauty to this usually lively coastal city.

2. How to get to Pattaya?

During my 1-day Pattaya itinerary, I chose to travel by car to save time. The driver picked me up at the hotel, and we headed to Pattaya. The journey of about 200 kilometers took just over 2 hours, making it relatively quick. Leaving early in the morning, I was already in Pattaya around 9:00 AM.

3. What to eat in Pattaya?

Pattaya truly deserves the title of a gastronomic paradise, and during my 1-day Pattaya itinerary, I had the opportunity to taste the fresh specialties of this beautiful coastal city. Here are some dishes that particularly impressed me:

  • Fresh seafood: Thanks to its marine wealth, Pattaya is renowned for its seafood dishes, like the spicy Tom Yum soup and transparent shrimp salad.
  • Tom Yum Goong: This national dish is an exquisite blend of sour and spicy flavors, with fresh shrimp and a broth infused with lemongrass, kaffir leaves, and galangal.
  • Fried insects: For a unique culinary experience, try the fried insects in Pattaya. Their crunchy texture and slightly greasy flavor left me with an unforgettable memory.

III. Detailed 1-day itinerary in Pattaya

Highlight attractions of Pattaya 1-day travel itinerary:

  • Pattaya Beach
  • Coral Island - Koh Larn
  • Sanctuary of Truth (Prasat Sut Ja-Tum)

1. Morning: Relaxation and diving on Koh Larn Island

I started my 1-day itinerary in Pattaya at Pattaya Beach, famous for its long stretch of white sand along the sea.

This place offers a variety of activities for everyone: relaxing on a lounge chair, swimming in the clear, warm sea, or participating in water sports like banana boating and jet skiing.

Since I wanted to go diving, I took a canoe to Coral Island to dive and admire the magnificent coral reefs. It was an unforgettable experience for me.

2. Afternoon: Cultural discovery in Pattaya

After returning to the mainland and having lunch, I took the time to visit a cultural landmark in Pattaya: the Sanctuary of Truth. This place houses a massive carved wooden structure. I was able to admire Buddhist and Hindu images, attend cultural performances, and take guided tours detailing the history and significance of the monument.

3. Evening: Musical show by the sea

In the evening, Pattaya comes alive with its lit-up streets, neon lights, and music from the bars on Walking Street. After dinner, I attended a cabaret show at the Colosseum Theater, where Thai transgender artists offered dynamic performances in dazzling costumes. The shows there are often elegant and colorful, yet always very respectful. It was a wonderful way to end my 1-day trip to Pattaya before returning to the hotel to rest and head to my next destination the following day.
