Visit Vietnam in one week, a rising star on the world tourism map

Despite having already traveled to several countries, this time, the Rosas family chose to visit Vietnam in one week, as proposed by the Vietnam travel agency. They decided to explore the wonders of Vietnam, from the lush landscapes of the south to the cultural and historical riches of the north. Follow this review and immerse yourself in the diversity and beauty of this iconic destination, offering a unique insight into the traditions, gastronomy, and breathtaking landscapes for which Vietnam is famous.

I. When to visit Vietnam for one week?

Each season in Vietnam reveals breathtaking landscapes. However, choosing the right time and sites is essential. My family decided to visit in March, when the weather in Vietnam for 1 week wasn't too hot in either the north or the south, and the landscape and people were beginning to come alive with the atmosphere of the Spring Festival.

II. Detailed one-week itinerary in Vietnam

Day 1: Arrival in Ho Chi Minh City - City tour

Arriving in Ho Chi Minh City, and starting our one-week Vietnam itinerary, we quickly explored the city, simply by visiting the 3 following places.

The first is Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral, with its bold French architecture. Anyone who has ever been there should visit. This place is not only a famous architectural masterpiece but also a historical monument, having witnessed many changes and developments in this young city.

Our next stop was the Independence Palace. Here, we explored the glorious history of the most vibrant land in the south. In addition to touring the main areas, visitors can also explore the basement of the Independence Palace or stroll outside the park, where lush green lawns are located. From here, visitors can also admire the palace from all angles, discovering the unique and harmonious architecture of the Independence Palace.

During our visit to Ho Chi Minh City, we also stopped at Ben Thanh Market to taste the delicious dishes and specialties of this welcoming land!

Day 2-3: Beach vacation in Nha Trang

The next destination in our one week in Vietnam, we went deep into Nha Trang to Kong Forest. This place is famous for ziplining, a rainforest exploration game that first appeared in Vietnam.

It was our first time exploring the deep forest by zipline, and it was truly an exciting and thrilling journey. Besides ziplining, ATV riding is also one of the interesting experiences not to be missed during a trip to Kong Forest. We traveled along bumpy roads and waded through streams, swamps, and more. My kids really enjoyed the activities here.

On the third day of our 1-week trip to Vietnam, we took a relaxing trip to Nhu Tien Beach. The seawater here is a clear emerald green, the shore is covered with fine white sand, and tall coconut trees provide extremely cool shade, perfect for those who love rustic and pure beauty like us. We also tried water sports like jet skiing, parasailing, kayaking, and scuba diving. It was truly an unforgettable experience for us.

Day 4-5: Journey to Da Nang and Hoi An Ancient Town

On the fourth and fifth days of our 1-week Vietnam travel itinerary, we had the chance to explore two gems: Da Nang and Hoi An.

Upon our arrival in Da Nang, we were enchanted by its golden beaches and mountainous landscapes. We visited Marble Mountain, where ancient caves and temples transported us back in time. Afterward, we savored local specialties at a bustling market, discovering Vietnamese cuisine.

The next day, we headed to Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Strolling through its picturesque streets, we admired the well-preserved architecture, a blend of Vietnamese, Chinese, and Japanese cultures. We also enjoyed a boat ride on the Thu Bon River, offering breathtaking views of the colorful lanterns that illuminate the town at nightfall.

Day 6: Halong Bay Excursion - UNESCO World Heritage Site

Halong Bay is home to many stunningly beautiful caves and diverse natural structures. Here, we experienced sailing through the caves and exploring these mysterious caves and were amazed by the majesty of the landscape.

As we cruised along, we discovered sparkling stalactites and mysterious caves. The cruise took us to the island past large and small rocks with peculiar names such as: Fighting Cock Island, Dog Rock Island, and Incense Burner Island (Hon Dinh Huong Island). This creates a unique and rare experience.

In the afternoon, we went to Titov Island to swim at the white sand beach. After this trip, we understood why Halong Bay is honored as one of the seven natural wonders of the world.

Day 7: Return to Hanoi - End of one week tour in Vietnam

On our seventh day in Vietnam, we returned to Hanoi to conclude our trip. Upon returning to Hanoi, we had the opportunity to further explore this fascinating city.

We strolled through the Old Quarter, where the bustling streets are filled with artisan shops and delicious restaurants. We also visited the famous Hoan Kiem Lake, an iconic spot that offers a tranquil break from the hustle and bustle of the city. We also sampled local culinary specialties, such as pho and banh mi, which delighted our taste buds.
