II. Detailed itinerary of 3 days in Hoi An Da Nang

1. Day 1: Da Nang – Linh Ung pagoda – Ngu Hanh Son – Hoi An

Our 3 day tour in Hoi An Da Nang truly began after a restful night in Da Nang. Arriving the day before, we had time to settle in comfortably and prepare for a day full of discoveries.

In the morning, we headed to the Linh Ung pagoda, majestic and serene, offering a first spiritual immersion. In silence, we take a moment to admire the timeless beauty of this place and to appreciate the inner peace that reigns there.

3 days in Hoi An Da Nang, later, while exploring Ngu Hanh Son (marble mountain), we felt the magic of nature. Climbing the 108 steps of Thuy Son is a challenge, but the reward at the top—a splendid panorama and the mystical atmosphere of the Linh Ung Pagoda—filled us with joy. The visit to the traditional Non Nuoc village, where artisans carve stone statues, moved us even more, with each piece serving as a testament to the soul and culture of Vietnam.

In the evening, we arrived in Hoi An. What to do in Hoi An? We wandered through the streets of the ancient town, lost in the maze of alleys lit by multicolored lanterns. The atmosphere was so calming, almost unreal, as if time had stopped. A boat ride on the Hoai River, with floating lotus flowers, left us with a feeling of serenity.

2. Day 2: Hoi An – Cu Lao Cham (Cham Islands) – Da Nang

To continue our 72 hours in Hoi An Da Nang, the excitement of discovering Cu Lao Cham woke us up early on the second day. After a light breakfast, we headed towards the Cua Dai Port, and as the speedboat pulled away from the shore, the excitement built. With the wind in our hair and the sound of waves, we felt the call of the sea. Arriving on the island was magical—the turquoise sea, quiet beaches, and fresh air overwhelmed us with a sense of complete freedom.

What to do in Cu Lao Cham? We explored the marine sanctuary to witness the richness of underwater biodiversity, an unforgettable sight. When we drank water from the Cham well, said to have healing powers, a wave of well-being washed over us. We then visited the Hai Tang pagoda for a calming spiritual and cultural experience.

In the afternoon of our 3 day trip in Hoi An Da Nang, we spent our time relaxing. We dived into the crystal-clear waters, admiring the coral reefs and marine life, feeling a deep connection with nature. Swimming at Bai Ong and Bai Xep was an experience of pure tranquility, and the beachside lunch was a true moment of simple happiness, with fresh and delicious dishes.

3. Day 3: Da Nang – Ba Na Hills

On the final day, our 3 days in Hoi An Da Nang ended with an adventure in the heights at Ba Na Hills. We headed to the cable car station, already dazzled by the beauty of the surrounding mountains. As we ascended in the cable car, a sense of weightlessness filled us, with breathtaking panoramas of the valleys and forests below.

Ba Na Hills, Da Nang

What to do in Ba Na Hills? Upon reaching the summit, visiting the Golden Bridge, suspended between the sky and the earth, left us speechless. This moment felt timeless, like a waking dream. Exploring the Fantasy amusement park brought back the joys of childhood as we laughed out loud while participating in fun games. The children loved this place more than any other part of our 3 day Hoi An Da Nang trip. Their excitement was palpable, and their faces beamed with happiness. After these moments of pure joy, we enjoyed a delicious buffet lunch at the top, offering a spectacular panoramic view.

Before descending back to Da Nang, we took one last moment to appreciate the breathtaking landscapes and unique architecture of Ba Na Hills, with its castle and enchanted paths. This final day was the cherry on top of our 3 day Hoi An Da Nang tour, a blend of nature, history, and thrilling experiences.

III. Some regrets from the 3 day Hoi An Da Nang trip

During our 3 day trip in Hoi An Da Nang, there are a few regrets that still linger with us. First, the time spent in Hoi An could have been a bit longer, as there is so much to discover in this charming town. We had a glimpse of the old streets and enchanting atmosphere, but an extra day would have allowed us to explore the quiet alleys, craft shops, and enjoy more of the local cuisine.

3 days in Hoi An Da Nang, another regret is not having had more time to explore the beaches of Da Nang. Although we visited incredible tourist sites, such as the Ngu Hanh Son mountains and Ba Na Hills, it would have been nice to spend a little more time relaxing on the beach, especially with the pleasant warmth of the sea.

The 3 days in Hoi An Da Nang were well-packed, but the rush to see all the important sites sometimes meant we missed moments of calm to soak in the local atmosphere. A few more moments to enjoy a coffee by the water or to stroll without a purpose would have added a touch of serenity to our experience.

Despite these small regrets, the trip was an amazing adventure, and we brought back many memorable memories that will stay in our hearts.
