Being enamored with history and ancient architecture, my visit to the Angkor Archaeological Park was a dream come true. Angkor Wat, in particular, captivated me with its beauty. Even though I had envisioned this in my mind, the actual experience exceeded all expectations. I was impressed with the temples' breathtaking allure.

On the first day of 3 days in Siem Reap, I began with an early morning car journey to this charming town. After checking into my hotel, I headed straight to the archaeological area to explore temples. Starting with the South Gate of Angkor Thom, known for its colossal stone faces, I visited the impressive Bayon Temple.

The highlight of 3 days in Siem Reap was the Angkor Wat, the largest and most complete structure in the Angkor complex. I totally immersed myself in the rich history and architectural wonders of this ancient city.

What to do in Siem Reap in 3 days? I decided to explore culinary delights on my own for dinner. I stayed overnight at Zannier Hotels Phum Baitang - one of the best five-star luxury hotels in Siem Reap.

On my 3 days in Siem Reap, I stood amazed at Ta Prohm, a temple engulfed by the jungle. Massive trees and vines gracefully covered the stone structures, showing nature's power over man-made creations. I continued my exploration, marveling at Banteay Kdei, Sra Srong, Ta Keo, Thommanon, and Chau Say Tevado. Then, I visited more temples like Preah Khan, Kravan, Neak Pean, Krol Ko, Ta Som, East Mebon, and Pre Rup.

What is there to do in Siem Reap? As the day ended, I went up Phnom Bakheng Hill to see the sun setting over the beautiful sandstone monuments. It was a scene I have never forgot. Exploring the ancient Angkor temples made me feel a strong connection to history and the beauty of nature. I now have special memories from this experience.

What to do at night in Siem Reap? For dinner, I explored Pub Street on my own, and then I stayed overnight at Zannier Hotels Phum Baitang .

Leaving the town, I took a newly paved road to reach the beautifully carved temple of Banteay Srei. Along the way, I stopped at the Preah Dark village and the River of 1000 Lingas, locally known as Kbal Spean.

During 3 days in Siem Reap, at Banteay Srei, I was captivated by its intricate carvings, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship. Afterward, I visited the Banteay Samre Temple, adorned with impressive reliefs depicting scenes of Vishnu and Krishna legends.
The third day in Siem Reap gave me the chance to explore the ancient Khmer civilization site of Hariharalaya, thriving in the late 9th and early 10th centuries. These archaeological wonders left me with a deep appreciation for the artistry and historical significance of the Khmer Empire. I had dinner on my own, and then I settled in for an overnight stay in Siem Reap.

End of the 3 days in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

To discover Vietnam from a different perspective, I chose a 2-day Vietnam farm tour, far from the usual tourist routes. My goal was simple: to leave the big cities behind, understand the daily life of local farmers, and take part in activities I had never experienced before. Rather than moving from one monument or guided tour to another, I wanted to slow down, observe, learn, and connect with local people. With the help of a local travel agency in Hanoi, I was able to plan an experience centered around rural life, traditional farming practices, and shared meals with local families. Here is what I took away from these two days.

I’ve just returned from 2 weeks in Central and North Vietnam, and I’m left with the feeling that I discovered several different sides of the country without spending most of my time on the road. From Hanoi to Hoi An, with stops in Ninh Binh, Lan Ha Bay, and Hue, each place had its own atmosphere and experiences to offer. Here is my personal feedback on this 2 weeks in Central and North Vietnam trip, including the moments that stayed with me and a few tips I would give another traveler today. Organizing the trip with a local travel agency in Hanoi also gave me greater peace of mind throughout the journey.
