Itinerary Expand All
At 8:30 AM, we'll pick you up from your Chiang Mai hotel. After a 40-minute drive to a local market, we'll spend about 20 minutes gathering provisions. Next, we'll take a 30-minute drive on a steep road to Mork Fa waterfall, a relaxing spot with stunning views for swimming. After visiting the waterfall, we'll stop at a small restaurant for lunch and relaxation. We'll cook an authentic Thai meal for you.
Following lunch, we'll drive for 45-60 minutes to the trekking starting point in the jungle. You can choose an easier route suitable for families or a more challenging one for serious hikers.
After about 2.5 hours of trekking, we'll reach a Lahu hill tribe village at an altitude of around 1,200 meters. You'll stay in a simple wooden hut on the village outskirts, with the opportunity to shower and freshen up. We'll prepare dinner, and you can explore the village and enjoy the evening mountain views, including Thailand's 3rd highest peak, Doi Chiang Dao (2,175 meters).
Relax on your hut's deck by the creek, savor the evening ambiance, listen to the jungle's night sounds, and enjoy a soft drink or beer if you prefer.
Following breakfast, embark on a picturesque three-hour trek through stunning nature and alongside rice fields to reach a Lahu tribe, where a small elephant family resides in the jungle.
Take your time to relax and savor lunch amidst this tranquil setting. Afterward, immerse yourself in the world of these elephants, which may include observing them bathe or even joining in to help wash them—an unforgettable experience with these magnificent creatures. You'll also have the chance to feed and walk among them.
After your memorable encounter with the elephants, our journey continues to your next destination, the mountain village. Here, you can opt for a refreshing dip in the shallow river, take a shower, and unwind on the spacious deck overlooking the river. Reflect on the impressions from your trip thus far, allowing them to touch your heart and soul.
We'll prepare your dinner, and you can spend the evening on the deck. If you wish, you can release a wish lantern into the night sky or join us around the campfire for a memorable conclusion to your incredible jungle adventure.
After breakfast, the next leg of your journey involves bamboo rafting along the river. You'll spend approximately 2-3 hours rafting on the Mae Tang River from the Lahu village to a Shan village. Each bamboo raft can comfortably accommodate 6-8 individuals and their luggage, which is safely stored on a rack in the middle of the boat.
Upon reaching the Shan village, take some time to refresh yourself and enjoy another delicious Thai cuisine lunch. Afterward, you can explore the quaint village, cross a long wooden hanging bridge, and bid a fond farewell to the rainforest.
Our journey then takes us out of the rainforest, and we'll return to Chiang Mai in our truck. Expect to arrive in Chiang Mai around 5:00 PM.
