Itinerary Expand All
At 8:30 AM, we'll pick you up from your Chiang Mai hotel. After a 40-minute drive to a local market, we'll spend about 20 minutes gathering provisions. Next, we'll take a 30-minute drive on a steep road to Mork Fa waterfall, a relaxing spot with stunning views for swimming. After visiting the waterfall, we'll stop at a small restaurant for lunch and relaxation. We'll cook an authentic Thai meal for you.
Following lunch, we'll drive for 45-60 minutes to the trekking starting point in the jungle. You can choose an easier route suitable for families or a more challenging one for serious hikers.
After about 2.5 hours of trekking, we'll reach a Lahu hill tribe village at an altitude of around 1,200 meters. You'll stay in a simple wooden hut on the village outskirts, with the opportunity to shower and freshen up. We'll prepare dinner, and you can explore the village and enjoy the evening mountain views, including Thailand's 3rd highest peak, Doi Chiang Dao (2,175 meters).
Relax on your hut's deck by the creek, savor the evening ambiance, listen to the jungle's night sounds, and enjoy a soft drink or beer if you prefer.
After breakfast, take some time to explore the small Lahu village and experience the hill tribe's simple way of life. While you explore, we'll prepare your bamboo raft for the next part of your adventure.
Each bamboo raft can accommodate 6-8 people along with their luggage, safely stored on a rack in the middle of the boat. As you float down the creek on the homemade bamboo raft, you'll have the chance to appreciate the lush green surroundings. If you're interested, you can even try your hand at steering the bamboo raft through the water. We'll raft along the Mae Tang river for about 2 hours (duration may vary by season) until we reach a Shan village.
Upon arriving at the Shan village, you can freshen up and enjoy lunch. If time allows, you can explore the small village, cross a long wooden hanging bridge, and say farewell to the rainforest. From the Shan village, it's a 10-minute drive to the elephant camp, where you'll have an unforgettable opportunity to interact with these majestic creatures. You can feed and walk among the elephants.
After your elephant encounter, we'll depart from the rainforest and drive back to Chiang Mai, which takes approximately 1.5 hours. You can expect to arrive in Chiang Mai around 5:00 PM.
