I landed in Yangon in the afternoon after a long journey. However, I quickly found comfort when settling into our hotel. Additionally, I was surprised by the warm welcome from the airport personnel as well as our guide and the driver greeted us warmly.

My myanmar 2 weeks trip began with two days in Yangon, the country’s gateway. We had the chance to visit the renowned Shwedagon Pagoda and enjoy a local train ride that crosses the different districts of the city. We were captivated by glittering temples and vintage buildings from the British era.

2. Day 3: Yangon - Flight to Mandalay

The next morning, after a fulfilling breakfast, we took an early flight to Mandalay. Once we arrived, a personal driver accompanied us for lunch. The flavors of Myanmar cuisine are well-balanced with a variety of spices. We enjoyed traditional dishes which are suitable for all ages because all my family members love them.

After lunch, we visited the Royal Palace to explore the center of power of Myanmar's kings as this place was the ancient royal capital of the country. Then, we discovered Kuthodaw Pagoda, recognized by its 729 marble steles. We ended our day 3 of myanmar 15 days tour admiring the sunset on the U Bein Bridge.

3. Day 4: Mandalay and its surroundings (Amerapura - Mingun - Sagaing)

What to see in Myanmar? During this day, we mainly traveled by car. The excursion began with a visit to one of the largest monasteries in Myanmar - Mahaganthayon. Our guide provided an in-depth account of the rich history and local monastic customs so that we could gain a better appreciation of the culture surrounding Myanmar’s Buddhism and that of other countries in Southeast Asia.

Afterward, we took a cruise along the Irrawaddy River toward Mingun. I can assure you that a myanmar 15 days tour wouldn't be complete without visiting Mingun. It is an unfinished pagoda but its complexions are marvelous. The Hsinbyume temple appears as a stunning of immaculate white architecture. The massive Mingun Pahtodawgyi temple stands out the most with its entrance guarded by two enormous stone lions.

We also explored the Poe Win Taung caves which still maintain several centuries-old Buddhist frescoes. We explored the lifestyle of the inhabitants and tasted the local cuisine at the local market. Furthermore, we took a cruise to Bagan. The enchanting landscapes slowly unfolded and offered a peaceful atmosphere.
