After my stay in Ho Chi Minh City, I embarked on a journey to the Mekong Delta, where I spent 4 days in Can Tho and Sadec. These places have a unique identity, unlike any other province in Vietnam.

What makes this region so special is its lifestyle reliant on the Mekong River. Can Tho is famous for its vibrant floating markets, where merchant boats bustle in a lively atmosphere, and its artisan villages where local specialties are crafted.

Sadec, located in An Giang Province, transported me to a picturesque setting with its colorful flower gardens and ancient temples nestled among vast lotus ponds. We also had the opportunity to visit nearby Mekong Delta sites such as Cai Be, Chau Doc, and Long Xuyen.

The third day of my 4-day trip to Can Tho and Sa Dec offered an incredible immersion into the history, culture, and nature of the Mekong Delta.

The day started with a visit to Sam Mountain National Tourism Area, home to the majestic Tay An Temple, which was influenced by Indian architecture. Then, I explored the impressive Ba Chua Xu Temple – the Lady Temple at Sam Mountain, with its unique architecture that perfectly represents the cultural richness of the Mekong Delta.

In the afternoon, I visited Long Xuyen and its impressive farm housing over 1,000 crocodiles! The experience of feeding them was fascinating and unforgettable. Later, I headed to Sadec, where I continued my discoveries. Among the notable sites, the Sadec Hokkien Assembly Hall, over 100 years old, captivated me with its traditional Chinese architecture and unique history.

4. Day 4: Sadec Flower Village - Sadec Lotus Pagoda - Return to Ho Chi Minh City

However, the bustle and excitement of the locals preparing for Tet added a special, lively touch to my experience.

The next stop was the Happy Land Hung Thy Garden, a place filled with fun activities. I took on the challenge of crossing a monkey bridge by bike – a task that was far from easy, but fun.

Finally, my last destination was the Lotus Pagoda, famous for its giant royal lotus leaves, which were incredibly beautiful. It was a unique experience before returning to Ho Chi Minh City in the evening. Thus ended my 4-day journey through Can Tho and Sadec.
