Day 2: AUTHENTIC LUANG PRABANG CITY TOUR (B)

Start your day with an optional early morning activity: participating in the unique alms giving ritual to saffron-clad monks, a tradition exclusive to Laos. Witness this procession and immerse yourself in the local culture. Afterward, take a moment to explore the vibrant local markets before returning to the hotel for breakfast.

In the morning, embark on a visit to Wat Visoun, where you'll find the impressive Thad Makmo stupa with its distinctively Sinhalese style. Next, explore Wat Aham and make a stop at the iconic Vat Xiengthong temple, known for being one of the most photographed temples in the area. It is situated at the tip of a peninsula near the confluence of the Mekong and Khan Rivers.

In the afternoon, continue your exploration with a visit to the former Royal Palace, which has now been transformed into the National Museum. Discover the rich history and cultural heritage housed within its walls. Then, proceed to Wat Mai, a renowned temple famous for its exquisite golden bas-relief. Day 3: LUANG PRABANG – BAMBOO EXPERIENCES - KUANG SI (B/L)

After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, you will be picked up and taken to a venue located in a charming village overlooking picturesque rice fields. Here, you will have the unique opportunity to participate in the Bamboo Experience (closed on Sundays). Learn about the versatile uses of bamboo and engage in nostalgic childhood games involving metal balls and crossbow arrows. Under the guidance of an expert teacher, take part in a bamboo weaving course. With a knife, cut bamboo into pieces and spend an hour weaving them to create your very own mat, which you can keep as a special memento.

Next, delve into the culinary aspect of bamboo as you learn how to cook traditional dishes like bamboo shoot soup and bamboo shoot with banana leaf served with sticky rice. Afterward, indulge in your delectable creations in a traditional Laotian house designed in a pavilion style.

In the afternoon, venture to the outskirts of Luang Prabang, passing through verdant rice paddies and farms. Make stops at a few villages inhabited by the H'mong and Lao Loum people, where your guide will introduce you to the locals. This presents a wonderful opportunity to engage in their daily activities such as wooden cotton spinning, weaving, rice harvesting, and tending to green vegetable farms. Upon reaching the stunning Kuang Si Falls, marvel at the main waterfalls, surrounded by orchids within the park. These falls cascade over numerous calcified tiers, descending several hundred feet into a series of refreshing turquoise pools.

Day 4: LUANG PRABANG – NONG KHIEW - MUANG NGOY (B)

In the morning, embark on a scenic drive to Nong Khiew. Along the way, make a stop to visit the vibrant Nam Park Market and explore the charming Ban Nayang village. Upon arrival in Nong Khiew, you will have free time to enjoy lunch at your own leisure.

Afterward, board a boat for a relaxing cruise along the Nam Ou River. The cruise, lasting approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes, will take you to the picturesque Ban Sojam village, where you can immerse yourself in the local life and culture. Continue your cruise to Muong Ngoy, a tranquil destination known for its natural beauty. Upon arrival, check-in at the guesthouse and settle in for your stay.

Day 5: MUANG NGOY – PAK OU - LUANG PRABANG (B)

After enjoying breakfast, embark on a boat to cruise back to Nong Khiew. Along the way, make a stop to visit the authentic village of Houi Hoy, situated on the banks of the Nam Ou River.

From Nong Khiew, proceed with a scenic drive to Luang Prabang. En route, take the opportunity to visit the Pak Ou Caves, nestled at the confluence of the Mekong and Nam Ou Rivers. These caves house hundreds of sacred Buddha images, some of which date back several centuries. They are revered and attract pilgrims during the Lao New Year festivities around mid-April.

Day 6: LUANG PRABANG – FLY TO PAKSE – BOLOVEN PLATEAU (B)

Transfer from your hotel to Luang Prabang airport for your flight to Pakse. Upon arrival in Pakse, you will be warmly welcomed by a local guide who will accompany you on your journey. Begin by transferring to the enchanting Bolaven Plateau.

As you depart from Pakse, the road gradually ascends in elevation, taking you up onto the picturesque Plateau. This region, characterized by its volcanic rock, is renowned for its exceptional tea and coffee plantations. These plantations thrive in the fertile soil and cooler climate of the area.

During your visit to the Bolaven Plateau, you will have the opportunity to explore the mesmerizing Tad Fane Waterfall. Additionally, a pleasant walk or drive through the coffee plantations for approximately 2 kilometers will lead you to the stunning Tad Yuang Waterfall.
